Students will add and subtract fractions with like denominators with 80% accuracy.
Supports math goals for multi-step operations with fractions. Builds on last week's fraction identification work.
Let's remember what we learned about fractions:
Think: If you have 1 slice of pizza and get 1 more slice (out of 4 total), how many slices do you have?
When fractions have the same bottom number (denominator), just add or subtract the top numbers!
"Don't change the DENOM, just work on the NUMER!"
Denominator = Bottom number (stays same)
Numerator = Top number (add or subtract)
